Free Christmas car parking and celebrity light switch on
A soap star and a hit character in a top children's television programme will turn on this year's Christmas lights in Malvern.
Mark Moraghan, of Holby City and Coronation Street fame, and Andrew Agnew, PC Plum from Balamory, who flick the switch to mark the countdown to Christmas on Saturday, November 28 at 6pm on Belle Vue Terrace. The pair are starring in this year's Malvern Theatres pantomime Peter Pan.
The switch-on is part of the Great Malvern Christmas Festival. Activities start at 10am, including a food and craft market, Santa's grotto, live music, refreshments, a parade of lanterns from 5.45 and much more.
As an added bonus, Malvern Hills District Council is offering free parking in all of its short and long stay car parks on every Friday and Saturday in the run up to Christmas.
Free parking will be available on the following dates:
- 27 and 28 November
- 4 and 5 December
- 11 and 12 December
- 18 and 19 December
Phil Grove, Leader at Malvern Hills District Council, said: "We are thrilled to be able to offer free parking once again, and hope this will encourage people to shop in our wonderful town to support the great local businesses we have here."
