Love is in the air after Valentines proposals
MHDC staff Nicky Rawlings and Luke Knight demonstrate how to propose in style outside the Council House.
With 6 million people expected to pop the question worldwide on Valentines Day there's no better time to take the next step and think about where the ceremony might take place following a romantic proposal.
To help with that dilemma Malvern Hills District Council will be holding a wedding open day, following from the success of last year's on Sunday, 22 March from 11am until 3pm, at the Council House, Malvern.
The Elgar Room at Malvern Registry Office, is licensed to hold weddings and civil partnership ceremonies and at the open day couples and their families can look around the venue to see what it has to offer, watch a demonstration ceremony, as well as meeting local wedding exhibitors.
Exhibitors include Malvern World Travel, Dolittle Dove Release, Pilot Cars and Anna Fine Jewellery.
The Elgar Room is located inside a grand Victorian building dating back to 1874, and retains many of its original features. The building is set within the beautiful grounds of Priory Park, with its swan pool, quaint bridges and Victorian bandstand.
Louise Anthony, Property and Facilities Officer at MHDC said: "The Council House and Elgar Room is a beautiful venue for ceremonies set within Priory Park gardens providing a lovely backdrop for your photographs, not forgetting the stunning views of the Malvern Hills. Staff will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions that people might have about the ceremony process and celebrating their big day here."
