Staff member renews vows at successful wedding open day
A plucky staff member at Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) has taken part in a mock wedding ceremony to raise the profile of the registry office at the Council House in Malvern.
Louise Anthony, Property and Facilities Officer at MHDC was joined by over 100 visitors at the Council House at its recent open day.
The Council House not only holds weddings but also civil partnerships and naming ceremonies on a Friday and Saturday with other days by special arrangement.
Louise said "Luckily my husband Carl was up for the mock ceremony and our daughter gave me away. It was great to see so many people come down to see the open day and just how lovely the Council House is as a venue."
The Elgar Room, where ceremonies are held, has recently been refurbished and has beautiful views across Priory Park.
In fine weather Priory Park is the idyllic location for wedding photography, with a quaint bridge and Victorian bandstand and of course the stunning backdrop of the Malvern Hills.
The Wedding Open Day was a great success and the council plans to run another one in the Autumn.
Louise concluded "With so many registry offices closing their doors and people needing a cost effective venue we certainly feel the Council House provides not only value for money, but a beautiful location for that perfect special day."
