Visit England and AA Quality
Schemes
Malvern Hills District Council run a policy
to only promote accommodation accredited under the nationally
recognised quality schemes run by Visit England
and the AA. More information on joining these
schemes can be found at:
If you are a new tourism business
or one that is not yet accredited under the schemes
listed above, there is support available in the form of a grant.
Malvern Hills District Council can provide a 50%
grant to businesses who wish to join either of the
national schemes listed above, on the understanding that they agree
to stay accredited for a minimum of two
years.
The grant is also available to those
businesses wishing to join the Worcestershire Approved
Accommodation Scheme. This is an entry level scheme for
tourism businesses wishing to get a basic cheaper accreditation.

The grant is paid on proof of
accreditation. Contact Malcolm
Salisbury on 01684 862483 for a grant application form. Fill in
and return with copies of your accreditation invoice and grading
confirmation letter and you will then be reimbursed up to 50% of
your grading fee and joining fee up to a total maximum of
£500.

Small Business
Grant
MHDC are offering small business grants of up to £500 to new

Malvern Tourism Forum will take place at the Malvern Hills Geo Park
in November. Date TBC.

Destination Worcestershire
As part of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber,
Destination Worcestershire are the main marketing arm for
tourism across the region and beyond. They provide a twice
yearly visitor magazine, accommodation and attraction guides
and a
very comprehensive website which is linked to the national
Visit England network. They provide Worcestershire with a strong
profile in national press and television, and also support tourism
businesses with advice on such issues such as sustainable tourism
and marketing.
Destination Worcestershire is a
membership organisation which provides different levels of support
to tourism businesses. It is also the main point of contact to
all the main tourism organisations such as Visit England.
Businesses will be able to choose from a number of different
membership options. A full list of the options are listed
