Route to the Hills project - have your say on draft
report
The community event held in Priory Park on the
4th June to explore ways of enhancing public open space
between Great Malvern Railway Station and the Hills has been hailed
as a great success.
Following this public consultation landscape
artists, Pleydell Smithyman, have produced a draft report detailing
their recommendations about how the project should be approached
and therefore what enhancements and additions could be made to the
Great Malvern's parks and the route to the Hills through the
Town.
The project management group is keen to ensure
that the public continue to have a chance to view and comment on
these draft proposals before the final plan is agreed. You
can view the project until the 25th July at www.malvernhills.gov.uk/routetothehills
and also at Malvern Library between the 16th and
25th July.
Malvern Hills District Council has been
working on the project with key organisations including the Malvern
Civic Society, High Street Great Malvern, Malvern Town Council and
Malvern Hills Conservators. Councillor Barbara Williams,
Portfolio Holder for Economic Development at MHDC says:
“This is an exciting project with huge
potential and it is important to us that we gather thoughts and
ideas from as many of our residents and community organisations as
possible. This is an ideal opportunity to improve this route
and encourage people to visit the parks more often and hopefully
the local shops as well, which would also help boost the local
economy.”
