The Wolves bring basketball to the Malvern
Hills
Worcester Wolves Basketball, in partnership
with Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire West School
Sports Partnership, has set up a number of new basketball clubs
within the Malvern Hills this Autumn.
Young people in school years 7-11 are invited
to join a new club at Hanley Castle High School Sports Hall
starting on Monday 13th September between 6-7pm, or at Sport Dyson
Perrins starting on Thursday 16th September between 6-7pm. There
will also be a club for Children in school years 3-6, which will
commence on Monday 13th September between 4-5pm at Sport Dyson
Perrins. All clubs cost £3 per session and are open to boys and
girls.
High quality coaching will be on offer from
Worcester Wolves first team players and coaches in a safe and fun
environment. Worcester Wolves players and coaches will be on hand
to teach new skills, tricks and team skills in a club
environment.
Barbara Williams, Portfolio holder for
Community and Economic Development is really excited about the
formation of these new junior clubs: “We are always looking to
offer more sporting opportunities for the children and young people
of the district and these new clubs are a fantastic way of engaging
keen young basketball players. Supporting Teenagers and Older
People to be healthy and active is one of this Council’s top
priorities, and by providing a wide variety of sporting
opportunities we hope that the younger residents of the district
will find a sport that they enjoy.”
As well as basketball MHDC has developed a
number of new and exciting opportunities for children aged 5-19 in
local schools and community facilities within the district. To see
these opportunities visit www.malvernhills.gov.uk/sport.
