Young people get active this autumn
Malvern Hills District Council’s Sports Development team is
promoting a new range of sports activities as part of the
Sportivate and Sport Inspired initiatives. Cycling,
Dodgeball, Street Dance, Street Soccer and Gym Membership are new
activities available this autumn to young people aged 5-25. All
activities will be commencing the week of Monday 7th
November. Visit malvernhills.gov.uk/sportinspired
or malvernhills.gov.uk/sportivate
for further detail.
The projects aim to get more young people
interested in sport and encourage them to try out new activities.
Professional coaches will be on hand for these projects that are
being held at local venues. The Sportivate programme is delivered
in partnership with the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and
Worcestershire.
CouncillorBarbara
Williams, Portfolio Holder for Community & Economic Development
at MHDC stated:
“These sports programmes offer young people
living in the area excellent opportunities to try out new sports
and activities that they might otherwise never think to try. This
is a great way to engage children and young people in sport and so
encourage them to be more active and lead healthier
lifestyles.”
