Have your say on Health and Well-being

Worcestershire's Health and Well-being Board met in public for the first time on 30th May and is now seeking the public's views to help shape the agenda from now until 2015.

The Health and Well-being Board has been established by Worcestershire County Council and the local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) which are made up of GPs from across the county. The Board brings together local leaders to improve the health and well-being of the county's population and will meet every two months around the county.

The board is now seeking the public's views on the draft Joint Health and Well-being Strategy for Worcestershire and their vision which is 'to improve health and well-being outcomes, adding life to years as well as years to life, especially for those communities and groups with the poorest health.' Views are also invited on the priorities over the next three years with the suggested priorities identified in the draft strategy being:health

  1. Older people and management of long term conditions
  2. Mental health
  3. Obesity
  4. Alcohol
  5. Acute hospital services.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Chairman of the Health and Well-being Board and Cabinet Member for Health and Well-being, said: "The Board has considered what the vision and priorities should be for the next three years but it is vital that people take the opportunity to be involved to ensure that these are what matter most to local people."

The consultation is available online at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/healthandwellbeingboard and hard copies are available in local libraries.
