The second Great Malvern Food Festival returns to the town on Saturday 2nd June with a host of examples of great Heart of England food and drink for people to enjoy on the Jubilee weekend.

There will be food demonstrations from some of the county's up and coming young chefs.World renowned chef Alan Coxon will also be appearing at this year’s festival. Alan is a TV presenter with hundreds of shows to his name.  He has also recently written, produced and presented , a new TV series “From Birmingham to Bombay” which is set to be broadcast around the world.  In addition he is: the author of 3 cookbooks to date, a food archaeologist, an international judge, and the creator of a unique multi award winning food range.

As well as activities in Abbey Road, there will also be a second local cuisine display area in the courtyard of Robson Ward Showroom, off Belle Vue Terrace. In addition to the food there will also be crafts and live music, all in a continental café style setting.

Belle Vue Island will host activities with Transition Malvern, plus music with local accordionist Caroline Waldren and street performances from Solo Circus.

Cllr Phil Grove, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council said:

“The food festival is just one of the many activities taking place this Jubilee weekend and we hope that as many people as possible turn out to celebrate and indulge in the excellent local food this part of the country has to offer. Any event that encourages residents and visitors to buy local produce is particularly welcome as it supports local business, therefore attracting inward investment and helping to boost the local economy.
