Local ingredients for local foodies! Rhys and Lizzy

Over the Jubilee weekend, the Great Malvern Food Festival, which is taking place on Saturday 2nd June, will see some fabulous demonstrations of new recipes by Our Lizzy. Lizzy Hughes runs Our Lizzy Cooking which is a Vegetarian Cookery school here in Malvern.  She uses a wide range of local produce in her cooking and will even be using Holywell Sparkling Water in her very own Vegetable Tempura which she will be demonstrating.

The Festival takes place in Abbey Road, Belle Vue Island and The Courtyard from 10am until 5pm. There are over 20 stalls booked, and a host of different events including cookery demonstrations music, entertainment and a Food Trail around town.

Cllr Phil Grove, Portfolio holder for Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council said:

“Lizzy is a great local food entrepreneur. Her recipe should be an outstanding hit with everyone and we are proud to have such great talent on our doorstep. The Food Festival is a brilliant event for Malvern and is a real boost for the economy of the town as people come from far and wide to sample the wonderful food on offer.”

World renowned chef Alan Coxon will also be appearing at this year’s festival. Alan is a TV presenter with hundreds of shows to his name..  He has also recently written, produced and presented , a new TV series “From Birmingham to Bombay” which is set to be broadcast around the world In addition he is: the author of 3 cookbooks to date, a food archaeologist, an international judge, and the creator of a unique multi award winning food range.
