Important Changes to your Home Choice Plus
scheme
Changes to Home Choice Plus Allocations Policy
Following a review last year, an amended Home Choice Plus
Allocations Policy has been agreed. If you would like more details
about the amended Allocations Policy, you can read the full
document and get more information from the Home Choice Plus
website.
What is changing?
The changes to the scheme include the
introduction of a reduced priority banding; changes to the way we
assess overcrowding and disrepair, and how your banding is assessed
if you are homeless across all the Home Choice Plus partnership
areas.
When is it changing?
The policy changes will take effect from the
1st April 2013.
What do I need to do?
Due to the changes to the Home Choice Plus
allocation scheme we need to collect additional information from
you to update your application and to review your banding. You will
receieve a personalised letter detailing the changes and what we
need from you. Your banding may change because of the new policy.
But please note that we will only write to you again if your
banding has changed.
Please fully complete the
form and return it within 21 days of the receipt of your letter.
The date you need to return your form by will usually
fall around Friday the 15th March 2013.
A pre-paid envelope will
be enclosed. Please note if your form is not returned
your application will be cancelled.
What happens next?
Once we have received and processed your
completed form, we will write to you again if there are any changes
to your banding. Please note that due to the large numbers of
applicants on the register, we will not write to you again if there
are no changes to your banding after 1st April.
