Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places 2011.
Malvern Hills District Council is currently undertaking a review
of all polling districts and polling places and welcomes your
comments and views on our existing arrangements and the proposals
of the Acting Returning Officer.
The review is a statutory requirement according to Section 18 of
the Representation of the People Act 1983. It will be undertaken at
least every four years and does not affect ward boundaries. The
review is carried out to make sure that all electors have
reasonable facilities for voting.
Any elector within the district, or within the parliamentary
constituency, may make representation concerning the existing or
proposed arrangements. Any person or body making representation
should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as
polling places.
Polling district - this is a
geographical sub-division of an electoral area. It is the building
block of the wards, electoral areas and constituencies and many are

separate polling district.

geographical area or actual building within which a polling station
is located.
Polling station - this is the room or
area within the polling place where voting takes place.
Details of the existing polling districts and polling places in
