Consultation on Welland Neighbourhood Area

Malvern Hills District Council is inviting members of the public to have their say about designating Welland parish as a “neighbourhood area”. The consultation is now open and runs until 4th April. Read our online news article about this public consultation.

Any comments on the Welland area application should be sent to Malvern Hills District Council by 5pm on Friday 4th April 2014. Review of polling districts and polling places

Malvern Hills District Council is currently undertaking a review of all polling districts and places and welcomes the public’s comments and views on current and proposed arrangements. The review is a statutory requirement according to Section 18 of the Representation of the People Act 1983. It is undertaken at least every four years and does not affect ward boundaries. The review is carried out to make sure that polling stations are fit for purpose and take into account issues such as disabled access and general location.

Any voter within the district, or within the parliamentary constituency, may propose changes to existing or proposed arrangements and should if possible suggest alternative solutions if they are not happy with existing ones.

Civil Parking Enforcement

The council have made this Order as civil parking enforcement is being introduced by Worcestershire County Council and a corresponding civil order is necessary for off-street parking places.

Malvern Hills District Council Notice of Proposals


NOTICE is given that Malvern Hills District Council in exercise of its enabling powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the above-mentioned Order.

The effect of the Order is to replace criminal enforcement of parking contained in The Malvern Hills District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2013 with civil enforcement of parking. There will be no change to the current level of parking charges, season tickets or resident permits and the Order applies to all Council run parking places

Public Consultations

Statement of Community Involvement - Consultation Drafts

The three councils of Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City and Wychavon are working together on the joint South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP). In addition, the three authorities have now agreed to produce a number of further joint planning documents and to each review and update their current adopted Statements of Community Involvement.

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCIs) set out what the councils will do to involve the community and other stakeholders in the preparation and revision of planning policy documents and how the community will be consulted on planning applications.

Three separate draft SCIs have been produced and the three councils are inviting comments on their draft revised SCIs over a seven week consultation period from: 15th November 2013 to 5pm on 3rd January 2014.

Any responses should be made, preferably electronically, either:

• in writing to: South Worcestershire Development Plan, Orchard House, Farrier Street, Worcester, WR1 3BB

Hard copies of the relevant SCIs are available for inspection at the Customer Contact Centres in each of the three local authority areas. Hard copies of the documents can be obtained upon request by contacting Customer Services on the telephone numbers below, for a cost of £5.00 each including postage and packaging.

The comments will be registered and acknowledged and all relevant comments will then be carefully considered in preparing the final documents for adoption by the respective Councils. A summary of the comments received and officer response will be reported to the relevant Committee or Cabinet meeting.
