Meet the Leader

P Grove

Councillor Phil Grove, ward member for Tenbury, has been re-selected to lead Malvern Hills District Council for 2011 - 12. This will be his second year in charge, yet mark his eighth year serving the town of Tenbury.

Having lived in in Tenbury for the past for 20 yrs, Phil first became a Town and District Councillor in 2003, going on to serve as the Mayor of Tenbury in 2006-07. He then joined the District Council’s Executive Team in 2007; taking responsibility for community safety & Economic Development. In 2009 he was elected Leader of the Council.

During his eight years as a Councillor, Phil has come to know the communities he serves very well. A regular on the High Street in Tenbury and keen supporter of local events, he enjoys being on the ground and talking to residents and business owners about the key issues affecting the district. Understanding the needs of those he serves is incredibly important and he fully appreciates that above all, residents want good value for their money.
