Air Handling Units
The Environment Team frequently receives complaints both of
odour and noise nuisance associated with the location of air
handling equipment. Where a planning application involves the
provision of air handling or moving equipment controls can be put
in place with the aim to prevent problems arising in the first
place.
Officers will be pleased to provide advice both for those
proposing to install air handling equipment, and also for anybody
suffering a nuisance from a current location.
Odours can be controlled by either extending or re-routing the
extract flue, filtration or other treatment of the exhaust fumes.
Noise nuisance can similarly be resolved by the re-routing or
insulation of the ducting, replacing internal parts, or baffling
the extract system in some way
