Street Scene Team
The Street Scene Team consists of four
members, Laura Green, Christine Thomas, Brett Jarman and manager
Gordon Morris who are all accredited to the West Mercia
Constabulary Community Safety Scheme, giving them a variety of
powers. The team operate seven days a week to carry out a
range of tasks as detailed below.
Core Tasks
- Dealing with offences as listed on the offences page
- Liaising with MHDC departments and other partner agencies
(Police, County & Town Councils etc.) when necessary
- Arranging appropriate repairs/replacement of street
furniture
- Parking enforcement on MHDC car parks
- Provide a highly visible presence to provide public reassurance
as well as to deter crime and anti-social behaviour
- Work with property owners to facilitate a culture of 'good
housekeeping' in order to reduce the triggers for environmental
decline
- Monitor water levels during heavy rainfall in significant flood
locations and operate flood gates when required.
- Utilise MHDC CCTV equipment to monitor ongoing offences being
committed in a specific area and for the provision of
evidence.
