Malvern Hills Play Action Plan 2007 - 2010
We can all remember playing as a child. Climbing trees, playing
in the street, adventures in the woods; these are familiar memories
of play. But for many children today these traditional ways to
explore and have fun are often unavailable or unsafe. Appropriate
play provision allows children to let off steam, build social
relationships and challenge their own boundaries in a constructive
way.
Play is a very important part of a child's life. Many experts in
childhood development regard play as 'work' of children. Play helps
a child experiment with their world and enables them to learn new
skills.
The Malvern Hills District Play Action Plan will create, improve
and develop inclusive play provision across the district that
respondes to the needs of the community and reflects the interests
and wishes of children and young people who will use it.
