Malvern Hills District Sports Awards

2012 Sports Awards Evening -  Thursday 12th July 2012

The second Malvern Hills district sports awards will be taking place on Thursday 12th July, at the Malvern College Sports Complex. The awards evening will be running from 6pm-10pm with Dave Bradley from BBC Hereford and Worcester as the compere for the evening.

How to Nominate

See Example 1 and Example 2 for ideas about what information should be included on your nomination.

Nomination forms must be returned by Friday 1st June 2012. Forms received after this date will not be considered.

All nominations will go through a shortlisting process and those who are successful will be invited to the Malvern Hills District awards evening on Thursday 12th July at Malvern College.

District Sports Awards - Category descriptions


1. Senior Male Sports Personality of the Year - A male individual over 18 years of age, who has achieved a high standard of performance and has represented or contributed to a sport or club through their own dedication and commitment.

2. Senior Female Sports Personality of the Year - A female individual over 18 Years of age, who has achieved a high standard of performance and has represented or contributed to a sport or club through their own dedication and commitment.

3. Junior Male Sports Personality of the Year - A male individual under 18 years of age, who has achieved a high standard of performance and has represented or contributed to a sport or club through their own dedication and commitment.

4. Junior Female Sports Personality of the Year - A female individual under 18 years of age, who has achieved a high standard of performance and has represented or contributed to a sport or club through their own dedication and commitment.

5. Coach of the Year - A person involved in coaching at any level; who has shown high levels of achievement when developing improved performance amongst sports people within the county.

6. Young Volunteer of the Year - For those under 18, who have voluntarily given up their time to coaching / Involvement to sport from an administrative, organisational or other supporting role.

7. Junior Club Team of the Year - A team who have achieved, and attained a high level of performance. They have also displayed good attitude and aptitude in their chosen sport.

8. Club of the Year - A club who have achieved accreditation recognition, also who have had significant progress in developing opportunities for all over the last 12 months.

9. Disabled Sports Personality of the Year - An individual who has shown commitment, and have achieved success in their own right either through taking part in sport or being an active volunteer.

10. Volunteer of the Year - For those who have voluntarily given up their time to Coaching / Involvement to sport from an administrative, organisational or other supporting role.

11. Unsung Hero Award - This award recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution of more than fifteen years to the development of sport in an administrative, organisational or other supporting role within a club or team environment.

12. Be Active Award - Sponsored by local company/organisation This award honours the contribution an individual or group has made to the development and delivery of physical activity projects to encourage more people to be active.
