Education Contributions Supplementary Planning
Document
New housing developments usually create an increase in demand
for public services, including the provision of school facilities.
The District Council, in partnership with Worcestershire County
Council, is keen to ensure that the provision of school facilities
keeps pace with new housing growth.
To help achieve this, the District Council can require house
builders to contribute financially towards education provision.
Although this has been the case for some time, the Council has
re-assessed the approach it takes, to ensure that the contributions
requested are reasonable and fair in relation to the types and
sizes of houses being built, and to change the policy to reflect
recent changes in legislation and government guidance.
