Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
Our Statement of Community Involvement sets out how and when we
will involve you in the preparation of Planning Policy Documents.
It will form a Local Development Document within the newly
established Local Development Framework.
The revised Statement of Community Involvement has now been
considered by the Planning Inspectorate. The Inspector issued
a binding report to the Council on the 21st April 2006 with an
assessment of the tests of 'soundness' of the SCI and
recommendations as to how the document must be changed.
The Council considered the Inspectors report on the 26th April
and decided to adopt the SCI as recommended. An Adoption
Statement has now been issued and this sets out the period in which
any legal challenge to the adoption of the SCI must be made.
The Statement also sets out where copies of the Inspector's
Report and the Adopted version of the SCI can be inspected.
A copy of the Inspector's Report, the Adoption Statement and the
final version of the SCI as adopted are available under the

Additional copies of the document can be purchased from Customer Services at a cost of £5.00 plus £1.00
postage and packing.
