General Emergencies

Police & Rescue Services are generally responsible for responding to and managing emergencies .

The council's responsibility is to co-operate with them and in particular to provide necessary support and aftercare for people affected.

The major activity is in providing a roof over people's heads and temporary food arrangements. This is generally provided through Rest Centres.

In the event of an emergency being agreed, an Emergency Management Team will be called and all communications with the public about the emergency will be provided in the form of a regular updated brief to Customer Services.

Where the scale of the emergency requires it, an emergency help line will be set up at Worcestershire County Council to help handle the volume of calls.

If you are in immediate danger and need an ambulance, police or fire service call 999.
