In 2004 Malvern Hills District Council was rated 'fair' overall, according to a major report from the Audit Commission called a Comprehensive Performance Assessment.
But, earlier this year the Council put itself forward for a re-assessment as it had made a number of changes since that first assessment, which had resulted in a significant improvement in service provision.
The Audit Commission agreed that those changes warranted another inspection and so in May this year the Council welcomed a team of inspectors into the Council House for a week long look into how this Council operates and how well it meets the needs of its residents.
In preparation for that inspection a Self Assessment document, which detailed exactly what the Council had achieved since 2004, was put together. To take a look at that please click here - CPA Self Assessment
The Council, which is aiming for an 'Excellent' rating is now waiting to hear what the result of the latest inspection will be. The Audit Commission are expected to announce the new rating in October.
