Change In Circumstances

If you are receiving Housing and Council Tax Benefit and your circumstances change you must notify us immediately.

Any delay may affect the date that your benefit is paid from and the amount that you receive.

You need to inform us when:

• You move house
• Your income changes
• There are any other changes to your household

When You Move House

If you move house you must inform us immediately.

If you are moving to another property in the Malvern Hills District Council area you will need to complete and return a change of address application form.  (206.75 KB)

When Your Income Changes

If your income changes whilst you are in receipt of Housing and Council Tax Benefit you must notify us immediately.

you must notify us if:

• You or your partner start or finish work
• You or your partner's income increases or reduces
• You or your partner's capital increases or reduces
• You or your partner start or stop receiving Income Support or Jobseekers Allowance
• You or your partner start or stop receiving any other benefits e.g. Incapacity Benefit, Tax Credits, Pension Credit

Any Other Changes

If you have any changes to your household whilst you are in receipt of benefit you must inform us immediately

You need to inform us if:

• Someone joins your household
• Someone leaves your household
• Someone in the household dies
• You have another child
• Your child leaves school, starts work or goes to college/university
• Someone is admitted to hospital
• Your rent changes
• The income of any other adult that lives with you changes

This list is not exhaustive and if you are not sure about anything you should tell the office Immediately of any change and we will let you know if it affects your entitlement.
