Grants for the improvement of services and the quality of life in the local community are available from Malvern Hills District Council.
The council has set aside £15,000 for the Community Grant Scheme for local projects. Applications can be made by local voluntary and community groups and charitable organisations for help towards projects or equipment and should be sent to the council by Friday, December 8. 2006.
Groups can apply for a contribution of up to 75% of eligible costs of the project with a maximum of £1,000 each application. The applicant will be expected to match fund the grant with their own resources’ and also meet the objectives on the council’s eligible criteria and application forms.
Malvern Hills District Council Executive Committee Member for Community Health and Wellbeing, Clive Smith, said: “The council offers grants to groups who help improve quality of life and make a difference in their community. It is also a process whereby the council can support those community and voluntary groups in the positive work they do for people in the district.”
The council supports many different kinds of projects such as staging events, funding a pilot or one off initiative or the purchase of new equipment. However, the scheme looks to support smaller scale groups rather than large scale capital schemes and construction works and we will consider any scheme with total costs up to £10,000.
