Housing Waiting List

Malvern Hills District Council and the Registered Social Landlords who work in the District are using a Common Housing Waiting List. They share all information with numerous Registered Social Landlords who hold housing stock in the Malvern Hills District.

Housing Associations are non-profit making organisations who offer low cost housing for rent and sale. They provide and manage rented homes throughout the District.  

The Council and the Housing Associations are committed to ensuring their customers are treated fairly and equally.

Malvern Hills District Councilin partnership with other Local Authorities and Registered Social Landlords have worked together to provide a Common Housing Waiting List. This means that it is easier for you to apply for housing as you need to only fill in one form to be considered for housing within all the partnership areas.

Malvern Hills District Council works in partnership to provide an allocation and lettings service called 'Choice Based Lettings'.

Properties are advertised and you can decide which accommodation you wish to be considered for. Choice Based Lettings has been designed to improve access to social housing by allowing you to view available homs and to place bids against properties you are eligible for.

Home Choice Plus will by December 2008, cover the areas of Bromsgrove District Council, Wychavon District Council, Malvern Hills District Council, Wyre Forest District Council, Worcester City Council and Stratford on Avon District Council. If you are registered with Home Choice Plus, you will be able to bid for properties in all these areas.

'Home Choice Plus' allows you to bid on properties in the local area, and the surrounding districts

These districts include:

• Wychavon
• Worcester City
• Malvern Hills
• Wyre Forrest
• Bromsgrove
• Stratford on Avon

If you are already on the Housing Register, you will not need to re-apply.

You will receive a letter in the near future that explains the change in more detail.
