The awards recognise outstanding quality construction within Malvern Hills District.
From the 60 nominations sent in by home owners and surveyors, 18 builders within six categories were shortlisted and the winners were:
Single dwelling category: C P Langstone
Multiple Dwelling Category: Parish Developments Ltd
Domestic Extension Category: Ridgewood Construction
Domestic Alteration Category: Oak N More construction
Conversion to dwelling category: James Legge Ltd
Commercial: Warings
Highly Commended were: A Thompson, Ballingers of Malvern, C A Cox Builders, Drinkwater and Son Ltd, Elmwood Joinery, G D Pugh Builders, McLaren Construction, MDG Refurbishments, MGR Refurbishments, Regal executive Homes, Rosemead Homes Ltd, Severn Vale
Guest speakers at the event were Graham Lee, Business Development Director at LABC and Malvern Hills District Councillor Portfolio holder for Planning and sustainability, John Raine
LABC Business Development Director, Graham Lee spoke about The Building Regulations and how they are helping to deal with issues surrounding climate change and sustainability, he also emphasised the quality of Local Authority Building Control, Mr Lee said:
“It is good to recognise quality builders and construction rather than giving airtime to cowboy builders and poor construction practice”
The winners will be entitled to use the ‘Built In Quality’ logo. and will also be put forward for the national Built in Quality Awards held in October at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
