Pre-Application Advice
- For
other areas of advice, see panel on the left.
- We also welcome and encourage discussions before you submit your application. Please feel
free to contact the Customer Service Centre where a 'Duty Planner' will normally be available between
10am and 1pm daily to answer general planning enquiries and check if planning permission is required
for what you propose.

We also hold 'surgeries' in Tenbury on a fortnightly basis to discuss proposals
with local people. Please contact us to make an appointment. Developers and professional
advisers should normally make an appointment to see someone familiar with the area to ensure that such
discussions are of maximum value. Simple enquiries can be dealt with by telephone. Confidentiality within
the Council will be respected. We also offer advice on how to present your plans.
- The advice given will be accurate and objective but will be without prejudice
to the formal consideration of an application by the council. We will give you information about relevant
planning policies and previous decisions and, where appropriate the standards for such matters as parking
provision, amenity space etc. We will also advise you about the likely time scale for dealing with a
planning application and the procedures to follow.
- You can see copies of earlier decisions on similar applications in the area or search
for them by clicking on '·Planning Applications'. Wherever possible we will advise
you on other approvals or consents, which you may need. It can also often be helpful if you discuss
your proposal informally with your neighbours before you make your application.
