The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the timetable for the documents that this Council will be producing as part of its Local Development Framework. It provides a starting point for you to see what documentation will be produced and at what stage you can become involved in the process.
The LDS is a three/four year rolling project management plan for the production of the LDF and key supporting documents. The LDS principally has six main purposes setting out:
The Local Development Scheme was approved by Planning Committee on 5 February 2008. Currently the Local Development Scheme 2008 has not been ratified by the Government Office for the West Midlands due to the impending changes to Planning Policy Statement 12. In the light of the recently adopted Planning Policy Statement 12 and the delays to the Phase Two Revision of the West Midlands Regional Spatial Strategy there is a need to amend the Local Development Scheme. The amendments will be considered by the Council this coming Autumn/Winter along with the response to the WMRSS Preferred Option consultation.
