The law states that failing to remove dog mess is an offence and that you must be responsible for clearing up after your dog, if you don't you could be fined up to £1,000 for failure to do so.
The simplest way of dealing with dog excrement is to scoop it up, put it in a plastic bag and place it in a dog waste / litter bin, or take it home and dispose of it (wrapped) in your domestic refuse. It is essential that excrement is thoroughly wrapped before disposal.
There are some types of land which are exempt
The Council responds to complaints concerning animal fouling. The Council's Dog Warden Service also offers education to dog owners who fail to clean up after their dogs
