Choice and Control is Worcestershire County Council's response to the Government's reforms of Adult Social Care as laid out in the 'Putting People First' agenda. These reforms aim to give those seeking support, along with their carers, a social care service that is better suited to their individual needs.
Our community is changing. The general population is ageing and demands on Adult Social Care services are increasing. At the same time people want and expect better services that give them the respect and equality that they deserve as members of our community.
Working in partnership with central Government, as well as local health services and other organisations in the Adult Social Care network, it is our aim to offer the more vulnerable members of our community the opportunities to live more fulfilled lives. It is also our aim to support people to live in their own homes for as long as they are able to do so.
Adult Social Care services will become more personalised and in due course each individual eligible for funding will receive an individual budget. Individual budgets will enable those in need of our services, either as individuals or with the help of others, to choose where and how they look for support.
