Update 10/08/2007

Description of Damage

Retaining wall and embankment were destroyed, the adjoining toilet block was deemed unsafe so was demolished for Health & Safety reasons.

Activities at site

Embankment behind wall has been stabilised, regular inspections of the site to check for stability will be carried out.

Surveys are planned for Tuesday August 14th and are expected to take two days. The surveyors will pick up details of the area around the wall including shop fronts on the opposite side of the road and part of the public area on the opposite side of Kyre Brook.

Ground investigation is scheduled to take place August 23rd & 24th, this will be preceded by excavation of trial holes, whilst this work is carried out three way lights will be required.

Once this is done our design consultants, Halcrow, will start work on designing a replacement structure.

We will issue updates regularly to local residents and publish them on our website. If you would like to receive these updates directly by email (for the term of the project), then please send an email to WorcsHighwaysX12@worcestershire.gov.uk with the subject Update Tenbury”.
