General Preliminaries – Maintenance Contracts & minor Works Contracts  (Jan 2009)

This set of General Preliminaries should be referred to and completed with when carrying out works on the basis of:

1. An order issued by the building occupier for works to be carried out on ‘Jobbing’ daywork rates.
2. A Daywork Contract issued by the Head of Property Services for works to be carried out on ’Jobbing’ daywork rates.
3. An acceptance letter contract issued by the head of property for works to be carried out at the Tender Sum Submitted.

When Preliminaries are issued with the tender documentation, those preliminaries will take precedence and these will not apply.

Water Quality Policy

The Water Quality Policy document sets out the guidance and strategy that Worcestershire County Council will follow to protect employees and others who may be affected by its business operations against the risk of legionella infection arising from plant, equipment, facilities, work or work-related activities. It includes the framework of the procedures designed to achieve this aim, and sets out the stages and objectives relevant at each stage. It then specifies the management, operational and specialist responsibilities and lays down a clear management and communication structure to ensure that it fails safe, wherever practicable.
