A map of how to get to the Library
Wythall Library is a small branch library, providing a full range of library services to all aspects of the community of Wythall.
The collection of children's books ranges from picture books for babies to teenage reading. It includes a parents and carers collection, with suitable books to help parents and carers focus on life's problems with their children. There is a selection of children's books on cassette, available for hire. The junior non-fiction includes books for school projects, and also books for leisure activities; and there is a small project collection, which may be consulted in the library only.
The adult section includes hardback and paperback fiction, and a wide selection of non-fiction. There is also a collection of large print books, and spoken word cassettes. The library holds a wide collection of music on both CD and cassette, which is available for hire; DVDs and a small selection of videos on local places, also available for hire.
The reference section includes encyclopedias and also Wythall Parish Council minutes.
The library also has six free to use Peoples Network terminals, one of which holds Dolphin software.
The library takes The Times, The Birmingham Post and The (Birmingham) Evening Mail daily, and also holds a small selection of journals and periodicals.
The local studies collection is still developing. This material includes newscuttings, local plans, and more ephemeral items, on this little written-about parish. Many of these are for use in the library only, so they are always available for consultation.
Exhibitions are held regularly in the dedicated exhibition room, and are open during library hours. These include shows from local artists, as well as touring exhibitions. Library staff are pleased to discuss the room with anyone interested in mounting an exhibition.
The library will also be hosting Jigsaw Swaps
