Malvern Hills District Council, Planning Services charge for pre-application and other planning advice for certain types of development.
Planning charges will ensure that we can continue to offer customers a high quality service, whilst providing a much fairer service to our residents.
The Guidance Note and Scale of Charges explains these planning charges, as well as what you will have to pay depending on the service you are after.
The guidance note is also intended to help Applicants and Agents understand the type and scope of pre-application advice offered by Planning Services.

Do I Actually Need Planning Permission?
Some domestic extensions and outbuildings may not require planning permission.
If you require advice on whether a domestic development proposal requires planning permission please use one of the following forms.
- DOMESTIC DEVELOPMENT Enquiry Form No.1 - ADDITIONS TO DWELLINGS (extension, porch, roof alteration, chimney, flue, soil and vent pipe, solar panel.)
- DOMESTIC DEVELOPMENT Enquiry Form No.2 - GARDEN STRUCTURES (detached outbuildings, enclosures, pools, oil or LPG tanks, walls and fences, hard surfaces, raised platforms and decking.)
The fee must be received with your enquiry before your request can be dealt with.
