Flowers planted in memory of councillor

Malvern Hills District Council has installed a flower planter in memory of Cllr. Chris Cheeseman who sadly passed away on 2 June last year, after collapsing at a council meeting.

The flowers were planted outside the Council Chambers at MHDC on Thursday, 12 March. A plaque in memory of Cllr. Cheeseman will also be installed onto the planter in the near future.

Cllr. Cheeseman, ward member for Malvern Wells had been a member for Malvern Hills District Council since 2007. He served on many committees including taking up the role of Chairman on the Standards Committee.

Cllr. Cheeseman was also involved in Community Action, Malvern Hills AONB Joint Advisory Committee, Malvern Hills Conservators, and was former Vice Chairman of the West Worcestershire Conservative Association.

Cllr. David Hughes, Leader of Malvern Hills District Council said "I am so pleased that we have this fitting tribute of a planter and beautiful flowers in memory of Cllr. Chris Cheeseman. It is appropriate to have them here outside the council chamber, where he contributed so much of his work as a devoted councillor. Not only will they brighten up the area, they will serve as a constant reminder to us of our friend & colleague."
