Freedom Leisure new headline sponsor of sports awards 2017
Freedom Leisure has been confirmed as the new platinum sponsor of this year’s Malvern Hills District Community Sports Awards.
The organisation, which operates Malvern Hills District Council’s three leisure centres, take on the role of headline sponsor of the prestigious event, having backed the awards in a different sponsorship role for the last two years.
This awards, now in their seventh year, promise to be the biggest yet with the ceremony taking place on Thursday, 13 July 2017 at the Bank House Hotel – a new location for the event which have proved so popular it has outgrown its previous home.
More than 200 guests including nominees, their families, local sport and leisure clubs and organisations, local businesses, councillors, police and more will be attending.
Jeremy Rowe, Freedom Leisure Head of Operations Wales and West, said: “We are absolutely delighted to support these exceptional local sports awards which recognise the importance and impact of local sport clubs, facilities, initiatives and individuals in Malvern Hills. These awards closely reflect the beliefs of Freedom Leisure because as a not-for-profit organisation, we have a focus on the communities in which we serve. It is our aim to engage a wide cross-section of people, enabling everyone to be more active more often. We urge locals who may not have visited one of the four centres we operate in the district to do so, as there really is something on offer for all abilities and preferences.”
They awards are run by Malvern Hills District Council and recognise the hard work and success of coaches, clubs, volunteers and sporting stars.
Nominations are sought for the thirteen award categories on offer, including Positive Change of the Year and Sports School of the Year, which are new for 2017.
BBC Hereford and Worcester drive time presenter Andrew Easton is once again hosting the ceremony which will be produced by Malvern-based AN Event Services.

Nominations forms are available to download from www.malvernhills.gov.uk/sports-awards. The deadline for nominations is Friday, 26 May 2017.
