Garden waste collections blossoming

Uptake of Malvern Hills District Council's garden waste collection service has shot up with over a hundred new customers sending the total to 3,257.
Subscription numbers so far this year are more than at this time in previous seasons and greater than anticipated, as local gardeners take advantage of this convenient and environmentally friendly means of dealing with their garden waste.
"Further demand from new customers is literally growing by the week" says Cllr Bronwen Behan, Malvern Hills Portfolio Holder for Environmental Control.
"The service has become  very popular since we launched it five years ago"  she continues,
"Many of our subscribers have been with us from the outset and continue to tell us how beneficial they find the regular collections which avoid them having to take garden waste to dispose of it  themselves, sometimes journeys of many miles."
Subscriptions for the service, which provides a year round fortnightly collection using a brown wheelie bin, are still available at a fully inclusive cost of £70.
