Post a Letter to Santa campaign raises vital funds for children’s charity
Malvern Tourist Information Centre has recently donated £161 to Acorns Children’s Hospice after another successful post a letter to Santa campaign.
Children sent their Christmas wish lists from the Victorian post box located inside the centre during November and December with the purchase of a special £1 stamp.
All children then received a personal reply and small gift from Santa, straight from the North Pole.
The campaign has been running since 2003, and since then the team at Malvern TIC have raised a grand total of £2306.25 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Mandie Fitzgerald, Community Fundraising Manager for Acorns in the Three Counties, said: “We’re so grateful to have the support of Malvern District Council once again through its Letter to Santa campaign.
“The care and support we offer at Acorns is not just for the children but for the whole family, and we rely on the community to continue our work, so this on-going commitment really helps to provide the vital income we need.”
Cllr Phil Grove, Leader of Malvern Hills District Council said: “We are delighted to be able to help raise vital funds for such a worthy charity. It is lovely to see lots of families getting involved in this annual tradition which really captures the Christmas spirit”.
