Success for Showcase of Services for Older People event
More than 150 people attended an event showcasing the services on offer to older people across the Malvern Hills district.
The Older People's Showcase took place on Thursday, 1 October at Malvern Theatres to celebrate National Older People's Day.
Organised by Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire County Council, the event was an opportunity for older people, their family, friends and carers to find out about services and activities available in the area to help residents age well and live independently in their own homes for longer.
Activities included free health checks for those aged 40 to 74, a Dementia Friends session to find out how to support people with the condition, a creative therapy workshop and taster classes at the nearby Malvern Splash.
Cllr Rebecca Massey, portfolio holder for health and wellbeing on Malvern Hills District Council, said: "This was a fantastic opportunity for older people to find out what is available to them in one place with over 25 stall holders in attendance. I was delighted to see so many older people attending with their friends, families and carers and hopefully these services will make a positive impact on their lives."
