Thousands enjoy taste of Great Malvern Food Festival

Around 2000 visitors flocked to the Great Malvern Food Festival on Bank Holiday Monday 29 May.

The event, organised by Malvern Hills District Council and supported by Boffy Arts Markets, took place in the grounds of Great Malvern Priory Church, packed with over 60 stalls of high quality food and drink produced in the town and surrounding area.

Event highlights included a lively performance from the Rock Choir, a DIY pizza party with Matthew Lloyd from The Fabulous Cob Oven Company, and top local chefs Matt Slocombe and Lizzy Hughes demonstrated some great mouth-watering recipes.

The Malvern Munch food walk also took place over the Bank Holiday weekend on Sunday 28 May, which saw over 100 walkers and volunteers enjoy a leisurely seven mile walk over the Malvern Hills with local food, drink and live music.

Malcolm Salisbury, Economic Development Officer at Malvern Hills District Council said: “The event was a fantastic success, everyone had a brilliant time trying a whole variety of foods and watching cooking demonstrations. We are delighted with the turnout, it’s great for the town and local businesses.”
