Volunteers' Fair comes to Tenbury during national Volunteers' Week
Volunteers are the lifeblood of many organisations and their support and dedication is vital to our community so to coincide with national Volunteers' Week – an annual event celebrating the contribution made by millions of volunteers across the UK – Malvern Hills Volunteering is organising a Volunteers' Fair on Saturday 7 June for people living and working in and around the Tenbury area.
A wide variety of local organisations will be taking part in the Fair, displaying information and chatting about what they do: volunteering comes in all shapes and sizes these days with flexible and short-term opportunities and many organisations welcome just a few hours of people's time a month.
Volunteering is for anyone of any age or background, and the Fair is aimed at attracting people who might be interested in finding out more about volunteering and local volunteer opportunities. And the magic of volunteering of course is that it's a two-way relationship, so alongside the contribution to the local community, volunteers also benefit tremendously from the experience – learning new skills, getting back into paid work, improving physical or mental well-being, or simply meeting interesting people and having fun.
The Fair is taking place at the Regal Cinema in Tenbury on Saturday 7th June 9am-12pm. Entry is free and complimentary tea, coffee and cake will be available.
