Volunteers needed at Upton TIC
Volunteers are needed to help run Upton Tourist Information and Heritage Centre.
The centre, based in the iconic Pepperpot, provides an important service to visitors to the town and although it has fulltime staff, volunteers are needed to support longer opening hours each week.
Malvern Hills District Council, which runs the service, is seeking people with a few hours to spare each week and who like meeting and helping people.
Some knowledge of the Upton area and its history would be useful although full training will be provided.
Volunteers would provide a warm welcome to visitors, offer information and advice on the area, and sell gifts.
Simon Smith, Economic Development Manager at Malvern Hills District Council, said "The Upton Tourist Information and Heritage Centre is open throughout the year to welcome visitors to the town and provides a wealth of information on the areas attractions, events, accommodation and its fascinating history. We are keen to find volunteers who would be available to support opening on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday."
Anyone interested in volunteering should call the centre on 01684 594200, email firstname.lastname@example.org or pop in for a chat.
