Route Development

Beckford Route OpeningWorcestershire County Council is committed to developing an improved cycle network. We are currently working with cycle route charity Sustrans to develop the National Cycle Network (NCN).

Additionally links and spurs to the National Cycle Network and other separate routes to workplaces, schools and leisure attractions are also being developed.

National Routes

NCN National Route 5 (West Midlands Cycle Route)

Route 5Existing: Redditch to Bromsgrove, Catshill, Rubery and Birmingham

NCN National Route 41

Route 41Existing: Evesham to Beckford

Planned: Tewkesbury (Glos) to Beckford and Evesham to Stratford (Warks)

NCN National Route 45

Route 45Existing: Twyning (Glos) to Bridgenorth (Shrops) via Worcester, Droitwich, Stourport & Bewdley

Planned: Connection to Upton upon Severn

NCN National Route 46

Route 46Existing: Powick to Worcester (Pitchcroft) to Droitwich

Planned: Droitwich to Bromsgrove, and Powick to Malvern and Hereford (Herefordshire)

Route 54Existing: Stourport to Kidderminster

Planned: Kidderminster (Crossley retail park) to Stourbridge and Dudley
