For 2020 we are offering our residents the opportunity to try cycling as a way of helping people to lead a more active lifestyle, improve their well being and fitness.
The 8 week programme will incorporate cycling proficiency (known as Bikeability) to help build individual’s confidence of cycling on the road, improve cycle skills as well as build confidence of riding in a group, improve fitness and stamina. Instructor, Rachel Nicholls will also be providing advice and support to help people progress to building up your miles on a bike.
The course costs just £30 per person, which includes cycling proficiency and graduation certificate. A graduation ride will take at the end of the 8 weeks.
This course is suitable for anyone who perhaps hasn’t ridden since they were a teenager or simply hasn’t ridden for a while. You might also have limited confidence of riding a bike, especially on the road. We recommend either a mountain bike or hybrid bike for this course.
Future course dates
Starting Monday 14th September 2020, 10.30-12noon from Hanley Swan.
- Week 1 will take place in a traffic free area e.g. tennis court or large tarmacked area in Malvern, venue TBC.
- Week 3 will take place on Wednesday 30th September instead from 10-11.30am.
- Our graduation ride will take place on Monday 2nd November at 10am-1pm from Hanley Swan.
How to book (Booking essential)
There are only five places available per course, with a minimum of three people for the course to run. If for any reason a course cannot be run then any booked participant will be given the option of a full refund or transfer to a future course. You must also be able to commit to the full 8 week programme and the graduation ride.
