We are delighted to offer a range of running programmes that will suit lots of different abilities.

All of our small group running sessions comply with Government guidelines and England Athletics.

They are limited to twelve participants and will adhere to social distancing guidelines, as well as actively encourage regular hand washing. They are professionally led and coached by our Physical Activity and Well Being Officer, Rachel Nicholls who is a UKA England Athletics Leader in Running Fitness.

Couch to 5km

Our Couch to 5km programme is aimed at complete beginners, so if you’ve got to week five on the NHS Couch to 5km programme and felt like it’s been too much of a jump, or even haven’t tried running before then this programme is perfect for you.

It’s 12 weeks long and aims to gradually build you up to running for 40 mins. The programme is tailored to your own level of ability too so you can progress at your own pace. 

The course costs just £30.

We need a minimum number of five people for the courses to run and limited to 12 places.

Run Further (5-10km) trail

Our Run Further programme is aimed at people who have completed their Couch to 5km programme and are interested in learning how to run off road as well as develop their stamina to build up to 10km. 

It’s 10 weeks long and aims to gradually build you up to running for 60 mins. You can already run for 40 mins non-stop and it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any experience of running off road as we will show the techniques and tips to help build your confidence of running off road. The programme is tailored to your own level of ability too so you can progress at your own pace.

Guided trail runs

Are you someone who would like to discover some new off road trail runs in our local area? Why not take the hassle out of finding your own routes and let our fully qualified Run Leader, Rachel Nicholls, guide you on some beautiful trails. You must be comfortable running for at least 40 mins non stop and have some experience of running off road.  All of our trail runs will last 1-1.5 hours and will take place from a number of different locations around our District including Alfrick, Hanley Swan, the Wyche and Lower Broadheath. 

Pay as you go at £5 per run.
