Malvern Hills Growth Grant Scheme
The scheme supports growing businesses in the Malvern Hills district to enable them to make a step change in their development. Businesses that have been trading for at least 1 year can apply for a grant of up to £3,000 which must be match-funded, pound for pound (at least), from the business’s own resources.
Businesses that are able to receive support through other European funded schemes and external programmes will be referred as appropriate.
The deadline for applications is 22nd June 2018 - 5pm.
Malvern Hills Apprenticeship Grant Scheme
Malvern Hills District Council has joined forces with Worcestershire Apprenticeships (WA) to help local businesses take on apprentices to fill the skills gap and create the workforce of the future.
Through our Apprenticeship Grant Scheme we provide funding of £1,000 to help with the cost of taking on an apprentice. Each business can claim up to two grants per year.
We prioritise applications from businesses operating in one or more of the following key sectors:
- Engineering and Manufacturing
- Agriculture Technologies and Horticulture (Agri-tech)
- Catering and Hospitality Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships
We will also consider applications where apprenticeship frameworks and standards fit within the description of Digital Media, Software and Hardware production, and Engineering.

Malvern Hills Graduate Grant Scheme
The Malvern Hills Graduate Grants Scheme offers financial support of up to £2,000 towards the cost of recruiting a graduate or undergraduate.
There are two types of grant are available:
- Internship Grant – between £250 to £1,000 depending on the duration of the internship.
- Recruitment Grant – a £1,000 payment for converting a fixed term internship into a permanent graduate level job.

Malvern Hills Business Start Up Grant Scheme
The aim of the scheme is to support and enhance the sustainability of new Malvern Hills district based businesses.
New businesses can apply for a grant of up to £500, or up to £750 if they are moving into business premises that are liable to business rates.

Enterprising Worcestershire Start-Up and Early Stage Business Grant
The aim of this grant is to provide support to SMEs covering start-up, high growth start-up and post start, early development situations, which are focused on individual business growth potential.
Eligible enterprises will have access to one grant per business of between £1,000 – £1,500 (on a competitive basis) towards eligible capital and revenue expenditure required to develop and grow their business. Grants will be awarded on a matched funding basis and will, therefore, cover up to 50% of the total eligible costs.

Worcestershire Business Accelerator
This scheme delivered capital and revenue grants from £5,000 up to £20,000 to growing businesses that have been trading for 2 years or more. The grant funding is now fully committed, however the business support element of the scheme is still available including access to one-to-one consultancy support as well as access to seminars and workshops on a wide range of business topics.

Investing in Growth
The Investing in Growth Programme will provide a bespoke support package for Worcestershire businesses to ensure they are investment ready in order that they may access local, regional and national funding programmes to reach their growth potential. Grants of up to £50,000 will be available to support businesses to make a significant change in their development, to access new markets, innovate, diversify and generate business.

Be Cyber Secure
Worcestershire aims to become a national centre of excellence for Cyber Security both in regard to further developing our cyber sector and in maximising the cyber security of SMEs based in Worcestershire.
The Be Cyber Secure programme will provide:
- to Worcestershire SMEs
- a comprehensive package of Cyber Security Support which may lead to Cyber Essentials Certification opening new markets and opportunities for growth
- where appropriate, revenue and capital Cyber Secure Grants up to £20k will be available to enable the development of cyber security within the SME and support survival and growth
- to Worcestershire's Cyber –Sector
- Cyber Growth Grants to assist the growth of Worcestershire's cyber-sector. Capital and revenue grants up to £20k will be available for local cyber businesses to develop products, new markets and enable expansion

Business Energy Efficiency Programme
Up to £20,000 available to help you lower your energy bill!
The Business Energy Efficiency Programme offers free energy efficiency assessments which could lead to grants for businesses who wish to use their energy more efficiently, reducing costs and improving environmental credentials.

Low Carbon Opportunities Programme
FREE low carbon innovation and renewable energy generation support and grants available!
The Low Carbon Opportunities Programme is available throughout Worcestershire offering free renewable energy or low carbon innovation assessments to small and medium size enterprises, which could lead to grants to either install a renewable energy system, or undertake a low carbon innovation project.
Grants of up to 45% of the total cost of a project (to a maximum contribution of £100,000 for capital, £50,000 for revenue) are available.

LEADing Rural Business Programme (LEADER)
The Worcestershire LEADER Programme offers grants of between £2,500 and £20,000 for setting up or growing a rural business.
Your idea must make a contribution to the rural economy; either directly by creating or safeguarding jobs and/or growing a business or indirectly through activity that will make a difference to the local economy.
The eligible area covers most of Malvern Hills District other than around Malvern town.

Three Counties Agricultural Society Bursary
The bursary is an award of £1,000 per year, for up to 3 years, to support students studying a land based subject, who are normally resident in either of the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
Applicants can be studying at either further, higher or post-graduate level, provided it is full-time and that they are 18-23 years old at the start of their course. The course can be at any recognised college or university anywhere in the world.
Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme
Businesses can claim up to £3,000 to upgrade their broadband to a Gigabit capable connection (without the need for a match funding contribution).
