Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire County Council's Public Health team are working in partnership to improve the health and well-being of local residents, to ensure they are healthier, live longer and have a better quality of life. In order to achieve this there needs to be a greater emphasis on prevention, early intervention and early help.

The Malvern Hills Health and Well-being Partnership has developed the Malvern Hills District Health and Well-being Plan 2016-21. The plan outlines the local response to delivering against the Worcestershire health and well-being priorities, and the opportunities for residents to improve their health and well-being.

Older People's Showcase
The Showcase of Services for Older People event will be taking place on Tuesday 9 October, 11am-2pm at Malvern Theatres in support of World Mental Health Day. The event will be opened by Andrew Easton, BBC H&W radio presenter, and is an opportunity for older people, their family, friends and carers to find out about services and activities available in the area to help residents age well and live independently in their own homes for longer. Activities include free blood pressure checks, Dementia Friends sessions (11:30am and 1pm), a short memory walk along the Route to the Hills trail (1:30pm from the bandstand), and a Strength and Balance taster session (12:30pm). Your life, Your Choice is a new website full of information and advice about how people can stay well and independent – and plan for their long-term future. The website helps people find out about support available in the community, and about all kinds of care services for older people and adults with disabilities.
