On 28 November 2014 at a meeting of the Executive Committee approval was given to undertake consultation on the following:
The Statement of Licensing Policy aims to provide information and guidance to licence applicants, responsible authorities, interested parties and the general public on the general approach the Council will take to licensing. Under the Licensing Act 2003 the council has a responsibility to have a statement of licensing policy in place and keep it under review.
The current Statement of Licensing Policy has been in place since January 2011 and requires updating following recent changes to the Live Music Act 2012, Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 as well as revised licensing guidance issued in October 2013.
