Search for hidden animals as part of Malvern’s Christmas Santa Needs You Trail

Youngsters will soon be able to take part in a free adventure trail to track down ten Christmas animals across the Malvern Hills District.

The Santa Needs You Trail will run from Saturday 20 November to Friday 31 December within the high streets of Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Barnards Green, Tenbury Wells and Upton upon Severn.

Children will be able to discover the Christmas characters hidden in shop windows and get to see them burst into life with the help of 3D Augmented Reality.

Participants are tasked with visiting each animal to help Santa decide who will take up a space on his sleigh by voting. The prize at the end of the challenge is an e-book which concludes the story.

Anyone with a smartphone can take part, the trail is completely contactless using a QR code, it takes about forty-five minutes to complete but can be done in more than one visit.

The trail aims to help families go out and explore their local area, get some exercise and have some fun. Children can also take selfies or even record movies with the animals.

Cllr Daniel Walton, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Tourism at Malvern Hills District Council, said: "This is a great interactive trail for everyone to enjoy and a good opportunity to get around our wonderful towns and local businesses. We hope families and children will get involved in this fun and engaging Christmas challenge."
