Council chairman takes on church choir challenge for charity

The Chairman of Malvern Hills District Council is raising the roof, and money for charity, with a church choir challenge.

Cllr Andrea Morgan is raising funds for Worcestershire Cancer Aid, a charity based in Upton-Upon-Severn, by visiting as many churches in the district and singing with the choirs over the next few weeks.

She kicked off the challenge on 12 February, when she visited the Great Malvern Priory and sang with the Hanley Voices Choir.

The next events will be held on 5, 7 and 11 March where Cllr Morgan will be singing in churches throughout the day and is asking residents to join in and sing with her.

Cllr Andrea Morgan, Chairman of Malvern Hills District Council, said: "Singing has always been a passion of mine so I thought this challenge would be a great way to meet people across the district whilst raising funds for charity.

"Worcestershire Cancer Aid is a great cause and I hope people will come along and show their support by getting involved."

A collection bucket will be available at each church for people to donate.
